Porto Electric bus, 2018
This self-initiated project stems from an office interest in vehicles of all kinds. Moving away from the industry trend of styling public transport with sporty or technological details, this project aims to think first and foremost about the user experience.
Designed around a softened and simple geometric bodywork, the electric vehicle’s primary intent is to enable dynamic and easily readable transit information by integrating a led display strip around the entire top of the bus. This display not only allows ‘interactive’ and detailed information for the commuters but can also serve as an engaging support for advertisers or city branding.
By stripping the bus down to its essentials, it not only becomes an iconic yet unobtrusive part of urban life, but it also creates a clean canvas for a strong municipal identity.
