The exhibition collaboration with Jasper Morrison begun with an inaugural exhibit initiated by M. Gyselinck. This emblematic owner of the namesake design shop in Kortrijk (Belgium) had, among many other things, held the first Maarten van Severen exhibition.
At the time, while working freelance for Morrison in Paris, I was asked to develop an exhibition system that could be modified to suit, not only the exhibition in Kortrijk but future exhibitions too.
The exhibit design was as a result devised to be extensible, relatively easy to use, transport and adapt to new spaces. First developed for Morrison’s Gyselinck exhibition in 2010, the concept was later readapted for the Grand Hornu in Belgium on request of the director Marie Pok. After this, the show went on to travel to Zurich Museum für Gestaltung, Berlin Bauhaus-Archiv , Leipzig Grassi Museum, the London Tate and Seoul Picknic.
The video shows the Zurich Thingness exhibition and “Jasper Morrison: My Collection" with the specially developed exhibition design.
